Warrior Reflection
“The LORD will march out like a champion, like a WARRIOR he will stir up his zeal; with a shout he will raise the battle cry and will triumph over his enemies.” – Isaiah 42:13. “The Lord is a Warrior, the Lord is His name.” – Exodus 15:3. The greatest warrior in all of history is Jesus Christ. He defeated the greatest enemy and won the world by laying down his life on the cross. He died for our sins. He gave it all for you and for me, that we may be Eternal Champions. He has demonstrated what it means to be a true warrior! There is enough mediocrity in this world. Most say they want to be the best, and for most, it is all talk. So many run from sacrifice or discomfort. So many fear training at their limits. So many are afraid of the sacrifice and effort they must give; or, they may simply doubt their potential for greatness. Do not be afraid. Do not doubt. This limitless potential is in each one of us, as we are all created in the image and likeness of God, destined to be Eternal Champions. To live Christ’s model of sacrificial love, of laying down your life for a friend (John 15:13), of giving 100% for the sake of another is seriously daring. In our culture, we cling to comfort and run from sacrifice. But those that strive to model Christ are truly bold. Those who have the courage to live it out are true WARRIORS. Our Christian Faith is a faith of WARRIORS. Do not be afraid, be that warrior! “They will be like mighty warriors in battle, trampling their enemies under foot. Since the Lord is with them as they fight, they will overthrow even the enemy’s horsemen. ‘By my power, I will make my people strong, by my authority, they will go wherever they wish. I, the Lord, have spoken.’” Zechariah 10:5 & 12
